About Burned Grain
Burned Grain helps you pick a laser engraver that fits what you want to make, and buy it at a fair price.
Who's behind it
Burned Grain is run by a maker who sells laser-made work, layered wood art especially. Hands-on notes on machine pages come from that work: real test cuts, settings and results. Where a machine has no hands-on notes, we haven't used it, and the page doesn't pretend otherwise.
Where the data comes from
- Specs come from each manufacturer's own pages, and every one links to its source. A spec the manufacturer doesn't publish is shown as unpublished, never estimated.
- Prices come from the stores' public product data and affiliate network feeds, checked every 6 hours. A store's checkout is always the final word.
- Material guides combine what's typical for each laser type with what each manufacturer lists, and say which is which.
- Deals are measured against each machine's own 90-day price history, not a store's “was” price, and every one is reviewed before it's listed. See deals.
What we don't do
- No star ratings or scores we can't back up.
- No fake countdowns or low-stock pressure.
- No paid placement. Commission rates play no part in rankings. See the affiliate disclosure.
BurnedGrainBot
Our price checker identifies itself as BurnedGrainBot/1.0 and links to this page. It reads public product data from the stores we list, at most every 6 hours, with a pause between requests and a daily cap per store. It checks each store's robots.txt first and skips any store that disallows it.
